OBJECTIVES
New guidelines and strategies are necessary to enhance overall system
reliability and production in the “Jofeyr Oil Field.” Due to our client
desire to achieve higher oil flow from well JFR-003, our engineering
team has attempted to recommend the best solution to increase
production.
Several challenges should have been addressed to achieve successful
SRP operation in the Jofeyr Oil Field wells. The JFR-003 well was drilled
in the year 1977 with the most recent workover conducted in 2008.
Following several years of production, the well flow rate decreased to
only 200 barrels of oil per day. The primary objective for our team
became to achieve the desired flow rate on a continuous basis from the
JFR-003 well over the next 15 years of production and indeed ensure
that no harm is done to the reservoir.

SOLUTIONS
PETRO EDMAN engineering team recommended the first IranianDesigned and Manufactured Ultra-Long Stroke Sucker Rod Pumping
(SRP) system to be installed on the JFR-003 well. In order to maximize
the life of the equipment while achieving the desired flow rate, it is
desirable to pump as slowly as possible, using the minimum number of
strokes. Therefore, the first Iranian SRP system with a stroke length of
366 inches and a lifting capacity of 50klb has been installed in this field.

RESULTS
After the downhole pump installation (January 2025) and successful
testing of the downhole pump, the downhole performance has been
approved and after the surface pumping unit installation, the
production will raise from 200 barrels of crude oil per day (before pump
installation) to a stunning continuous rate of 1000 barrels of oil per day.
